THE QUALITY OF THE GRAPHICS:
The quality of the graphics that you see here on the CD have almost
universally been reduced from their original higher resolutions. This
is so that images can be presented more quickly on your screen and fit
onto the CD. Most of the original, higher quality images can be found
on the SOHO web site at http://sohowww.estec.esa.nl/ (European site) or
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/ (US site).
Although much higher qualilty video clips exist as well, the video
files have been produced at a smaller size and reduced in quality
through compression to assure consistent playback and so that we could fit more onto the CD. These are generally not availalbe on the web since they would be too large for downloading in a reasonable amount of time.
